that's what i'm doing.
things i'm going to have to spend on--january and february (approximate estimates):
--abram coming here for an extended weekend/my birthday = $400
--trip home for president's day weekend = $1000--minimum
--eye exam for glasses and contacts = $300 minimum
--home stuff i've been meaning to get but have held off on = $300
by the end of february i will be around $2000 poorer. gah. that's a lot of money!
in other news--so excited to drag abram all around the city doing things i've been too lazy to go and do myself! yay!
i have been checking out real estate here in the greater nyc metro area...it ranges from 300k (a 300 sq. ft studio) CO-OP (not even a condo--meaning i don't even get to own the damn thing) to 300 MILLION dollars. haha.
i am so going to be renting my whole life...

Uhhh...$400 is just a rough estimate. We are ASIAN, remember? We can make it A LOT less than that if we try.
Asian or not, $400 for a long weekend won't cut it, unless you eat teriyaki or fast food all the time.
Breakfast/lunch/dinner 80X4 = 280
Transportation = 50 (for the entire weekend)
Alcohol = 25 per day (100)
So far = 280+50+100 = 330 - and that's just for the bare minimum. Also to consider: food for your host, shopping, good food...on my 3 day stay in NYC with Jenny, I spend close to 800 and I didn't buy anything....but ate good food.
I forgot: Cigarettes = 50 bucks!
My two cents...no pun intended..,,,,by Antonio
opps 80X4 = 320.....sorry Antonio
